Hi, this is a video on a 2001 Dodge Ram 1500 EVAP Emission Control System leak repair for code PO442 small leak & PO455 large leak. My problem was found within the hoses on the top of the canisters beneath the pick-up passenger side. I was lucky that it was an easy fix, sometimes the plastic lines connecting to the canisters crack and it is a more difficult repair but, very doable.

chev 1500 series truck 00 4×4 w 4L60 transmission code p1870 repair

Description: This 00 chev 1500 series truck with a 4L60 transmission. It was setting a p1870 code. (Transmission component slipping) Resulting in a hard 1-2 shift, and check engine light. (default high line pressure) This is typically caused by a worn isolator/regulator valve, located in the valve body of the transmission. It`s job is to help regulate the torque convertor clutches duty cycle. The valve has to be replaced inside of the valve body. As well, if substantial clutch material is found in the fluid pan, the torque convertor should be replaced to. I did the valve change, and the code has subsided, for now, but a torque convertor is likely not far off. MORE ADVANCED data by using a scan tool can be observed. And a typical good convertor duty cycle should have less than 100 rpm slippage at 60% duty cycle. When the computer ramps up the duty cycle to 100% and still sees excess slippage of the convertor clutch, p1870 will set on the second instance.

If your truck will not go into gear properly, this is an easy and cheap fix! Chances are that this small plastic part on your shift selector column is broken.
